Greg has developed his flight expertise by taking on roles in flight crew resource management, checking organisation development and aircraft selection acquisition/utilisation. He has been a Type Rating Examiner at Emirates Airlines for the past 5 years.
With over 17,000 hours of wide-body jet experience, a total of 23,000 flying hours, a successful track record in creating and building aviation businesses, and roles in flight safety, flight resource training and regulatory management, along with aircraft purchase, Greg is perfectly qualified for the operational establishment of Aviation H2.
Learning to fly at Cessnock, Australia, in the early 1980s, Greg’s business experience started soon after when he founded Newcastle Aviation in 1986. As Managing Director, Greg built the business so it operated overnight cargo operations with four Mitsubishi MU2 Turbo-Prop and two Turbo commander (AC690) aircraft before moving on to join Ansett Airlines in 1988. Seeking more international exposure, Greg left Ansett Airlines in 2000 to fly for Singapore Airlines then Etihad Airways as a Captain on the B777. He is currently working for Emirates Airline as a Type Rating Examiner and UPRT instructor, a role he has held for more than five years.
Over his aviation career, Greg has developed his flight expertise by taking on roles in Flight Crew Resource Management, Checking Organisation Development and Aircraft Selection Acquisition and Utilisation.
Greg is a founding director of Make 21st Century Aeronautics and Aviation H2. His extensive aviation experience makes him instrumental in developing the business model, guiding the technological requirements of its systems and establishing its operations. Greg’s expertise will also be critical to Aviation H2 when it begins navigating the regulatory challenges associated with hydrogen-powered flight.
